Leigh Anne Mckeen
The intimacy of film photography and straight shooting has always felt like a calling to me. You have to think about what you are doing in the moment: about the film speed, aperture, shadows. I am trying to translate both what I see and how it moves me into one shot. It requires a slowness that I welcome, in contrast to the rapid pace of the world.
I got my formal training through Black Lab Photography under Sandra Valencia’s tutelage. After becoming a mother 6 years ago my art spirit became quiet in the chaos of parenthood. This show is my first step towards joining these two selves, and I am grateful you are here to share it with me.
